I usually use 3's they pattern nicely but 2's would be a close second.

Mostly 3's when it is just ducks, although this early season I had a box of 4's that I used up. When geese and ducks overlap I shoot 2's. Then in the back side when it is just geese I shoot BB's.

I shoot the same load at everything. Kent 3" #1's and geese and ducks both die with it. But sometimes when only duck hunting, I use #2's

#2s if there are geese around. Just ducks and light wind its tough to beat #3s or #4s

I was hunting 6 mph wind last yr and shot 6 for cripples. I missed every cripple fight between a foot and a half and three feet pending on the wind. That size shot gets blown around pretty bad

Weird, wouldn't think 6 mph would be that big of a deal. I have shot geese with it though so I am not terribly worried.

Fours are as small as I would go unless it is a cripple head shot at close range or maybe teal. I am sure others will chime in.

I know a lot of people that feel that way, but I also know a lot of people that prefer smaller shot, especially when they are decoying well that day.
