Fairmount impoundments

Postby Marshmallow » Mon Dec 09, 2013 8:08 pm

Headed to fairmount to hunt the impoundments on the 20th and 21st with my father in law. How are they hunting?

Our blind on hall creek in Calvert has been great for goose but slow on the ducks. My dog is getting bored lol. Any advice on decoy spread? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yeah, we're using 2 canoes to get in and out. So the motor rule doesn't bother me.

Worked the impoundments pretty hard yesterday and this morning. Saw 3 ducks yesterday and they never came in close enough for a shot. This morning we say about 10 and one came in for a passing shot, but my father in law missed. We're headed down to some flooded timber a buddy tipped us off on.

Yes it does. Our blind down in Calvert doesn't have a ton of ducks, but more than 10 a day lol. We usually at least take down 5-6 and work plenty more. Weather was just way too warm. Couldn't even bring my self to put my waders on to hunt the afternoon so we just made the trek home.
