This morning pretty much sucked, a few birds but nothing came in. I kayaked from brunswick down to our spot, tons of hunters, a couple ducks here and there but nothing spectacular. Got shooting at a few geese, and a few ducks, but shooting from a kayak after the second shot you start rocking alot and the third shot might get you wet haha. Saw tons of hunters also

Don't mind Lefty, guys. He's just grumpy because he realized that 2 months after his wife bow hunted with me in my blind, she turned up pregnant. (Just kidding 'ol buddy!!)

Grnhd- we didn't get out this morning.

Well, we got out to an area that Lefty and Slice scouted the other day....saw lots of ducks and geese flying around, that is for sure...they did a great job in finding us a place to hunt. We had 7 black ducks sitting in the deeks just before it opened...Slice had his gun apart when they landed. I was going to give him my gun, because he had yet to shoot any waterfowl.....about 1 minute to shooting time they took off....bummer. When then had 5 geese decoying right into the spread. I yelled take em at about 15 yards....feet down and in your face...I dumped one and Slice dumped one....I think that they were so close to Lefty that he shot all three of his shells while his pattern was still the size of a 1/2 dollar....LOL....I will post some pics later.....Nice job guys on your scouting...no other hunter pressure and lots of birds around...can't wait to get out again!

Rob,

Unfortunately, I'll be stuck at work tomorrow.

It's not a good feeling having ducks in the spread, 1 minute to go until shooting time and you have your gun in 3 pieces!!

Lefty and I took a trip to bass pro today and picked up 8 goose floaters, so we're getting a decent decoy set together. I can't wait to get back out Tuesday!!

I made it out this morning, not much action where I was at. No ducks flying and a couple flocks of high flying geese that I couldn't talk down. Saw a couple ducks on the water up stream from our spot but they didn't swim down.

Here are a few pics from this morning. Saw alot of buffies working the river...had one flock of goldeneyes come in and I managed to kill one. Citori shot the two buffleheads....I forgot my shotgun in the truck, so we had to share his gun...otherwise we would have had at least three or four more birds.....

Thanks again guys for letting me tag along. Hopefully next time the wind won't be as brutal.

I will probably head out in the AM rocker, give me a call tonight if you want to roll.

Wish I could have been there with you guys....it looked like this morning would have been a good time to be out...cold and ducky! I will be returning from TX on January 7th, but would be interested in heading out on January 8th in the AM....let me know if anyone is around to head out.
