Layout Boats on The Bay

My buddy and i are arguing if layout boats are legal on the Chesapeake Bay anymore. I don't ever see them but not sure. We live and hunt Dorchester County. Ne one with an answer

Layout boats are legal you are above the water. Plenty of hunters are using them on the bay.

The old sink boxes are not they were used in the market hunting days. Here's the definition from DNR's web site for sink box.

Illegal to :
Hunt from a sink box (low floating device with depression that
conceals the hunter beneath the surface of the water).

Thank you. My buddy runs a boat building shop. looks like we will be busy this summer.

i shoot kent island, and i have used them for some of the inlets, so im prity sure there there legil and as far as how well they work, there nearly perfect. Only thing i dislike, is on them cold wet day, thinking i could we in a nice warm blind, insted of a wet, freazing, low to the water, boat :rofl: ducks never see 'em

Sink boxes are what are illegal, lay outs are ok, as of now.
