Fishing Bay and Deals Island, Fairmount WMA

Has anyone done any hunting in these areas?
They look good on Mapquest with a lot of shorelines.
Been hunting Janes and Cedar Islands, out of Chrisfield, and was just looking to slip into some other areas down that way.
I know duck hunters are like fishing captains, tight-lipped about their spots, just looking for some info. :help:

I never hunted there. I stay close to home to save gas money for more decoys.

I hunted fishing bay a few time last year with little to no luck. Not to say that its not a good place to hunt. There was alot of birds but I just didnt get a chance to do the scouting I needed to hunt successfully there. Early teal was ok and hunting the middle of the week is ok but if you plan on going out on the weekend try to be the first one there. I got there at 0430 and I was the 6th truck in line to launch and there was another 10 to 15 boats already launched. Needles to say I didnt get the spots I was hoping for so I was thrown off my game from the get go. The best thing I can tell you is look at a map (google earth or something like that) and find the "holes" in the marsh and find a way to get to them. The times i was out there i heard alot of shooting just not from my boat. I know its not alot of info but i hope it helps some.

I have hunted Fishing Bay for Sika a few times. Do the ducks hang out in the marshy areas much? Or do you find them more in the open channels of the bay. I don't remember seeing many birds dropping into the holes in the marsh.

I will be hunting this area for the first time this year as well. Any tips would be appriciated. Don't want to snag anyones spot, but would like to get an idea on where to go so we don't waist a lot of time. I have heard it fills up with hunters quick.

No blind site needed at fishing bay - it's all first come first serve, wherever you prefer to be.
