Bluebird days....

Postby PghDuckHunter » Thu Oct 24, 2013 1:11 pm

The weather this fall has been just spectacular. Bluebird day after bluebird day. Duck hunting, not so much....definitely working hard for them.

C'est la vie...maybe the late season will see more birds flying...

I feel like it was the same last year. At least there should be a little wind this weekend.

Yes, blue bird but beautiful mornings in the wetlands and not skunked yet. I just love to get out there anyway. Can't shoot them from home.

Another bluebird morning. Had a black duck hen circle my dekes at 5 minutes before shooting time. Not much flying in the refuge today. While a beautiful morning, I didnt even fire my gun...and the coastal closes tomorrow :-(

Went back to the refuge this afternoon. Still sunny but a lot of ducks moving from hole to hole. Shot this duck pretty early which makes for a quick limit.

Nice black Pgh, congrats. We had a slow morning but managed 2 wood ducks.
