This morning's hunt

Postby woodduck14 » Tue Nov 12, 2013 1:00 pm

My buddy and I had a good morning with 2 mallards, 2 woodies, 2 bufflehead, 1 hooded merg, and 1 common goldeneye.
It was quite the mixed bag, we don't shoot many divers here at all. The buffies were doing about mach 10 through our spread which is a little bit faster than our normal mallards, let's just say he burned through some steel today.

Looks like this cold front might have blown some fresh birds down.... divers specifically.

Awesome variety and great job. Good to see some divers inland. I was going to go out this morning but pussed out. Very cold out there!

Thanks guys, this was actually the first goldeneye we've ever seen here. He shot the hen, I'm hoping the drake is around here somewhere. This cold weather is what I wait for, keeps most hunters home, and sends new birds down.
