Birthday Band

Postby woodduck14 » Wed Nov 13, 2013 11:48 am

Well today was my 30th bday and I celebrated it by getting my first band. Been hunting since I was 15 and never got one, but that all ended today. It was with a flock of mallards so I picked it out and dropped it with one shot.
It was an all around good hunt, I also bagged three greenheads.

Not sure why it says mallard x black duck.

It wasn't a hybrid at all, straight up black duck

Congrats! What did it's wing look like? If it had some white above and below the speculum the biologist might have called it a hybrid.

I would have counted your duck as a black, if I shot it, just to avoid any hassle if checked by an EPO.

It has white above the speculum. Therefore it's concidered a cross. Congrats either way!
