Limit of mallards

Postby woodduck14 » Fri Nov 15, 2013 6:05 pm

So I decided to sleep in today, getting up at 430 everyday was getting old. Headed out around 11 until sunset. I could have easily shot my 6 bird limit, but I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn today. I missed a woodie at a solid 20 feet and then missed a black duck that was cupped and commited. The big miss was on a drake goldeneye (which is the bird I've always wanted for a wall mount) after all that I redeemed myself on these 4.

Sweet!

Did they seem like locals, or did they come right in like new birds/migrators? The ducks we had this morning seemed a LOT less skittish than the last week or two (even my calling couldn't scare most of them off)…

Congrats on a great finish!

These birds weren't shy at all. They came cupped right into the deeks, my call didn't scare them either. Had to be out of towners...
