hey you guys, any interest?

any interest in doing a winter codfishing charter? maybe getting together for a day of fishing? i know a few charters that go out all winter and cod/haddock fishing is normally pretty good over the winter months. just hoping to see how much interest, if any, there would be for a trip like that with dhc guys. post here or pm. also, let me know if you know of any good boats to go out on over the winter. i know the helen h is good for large groups and ive always had luck on the kayman out of gloucester for smaller groups. let me know.

Just want to let you know that cod fishing is pretty much closed in the winter a charter can only keep 70lbs of cod for the hole boat, unless they changed the laws again this year! It would be haddock, pollack, and red fish you could keep, believe that's all the way until March. There used to be a boat that left out of Lynn but I believe they don't do it anymore

Yes, the American Classic. He'd steam all the way out to Georges Bank where you can keep a decent limit of codfish. Great boat. Easiest cod fishing at the moment is out of Rhode Island towards Block Island. But you don't get much in the way of haddock and pollack there.

I'm In, Like BD stated the current regulations are not favorable for cod. We did a DHC trip years ago out of Plum Island and had a great time in May.

personally, i would much rather a Spring trip...ive had some poor summertime trips. you guys wanna maybe look in to a Spring groundfishing trip for cod/haddock? i know a few good boats out of either gloucester or green harbor for 6 pack charters but if we get more interested maybe one of the party boats? joser you probably have some good advice on this.

i think we have about 4 total that would be interested and im sure bunker would wanna go, too...so that's at least 5. any more?

I'm in whenever!

Been buried at work the last couple weeks, but glad to resurface and see this post. Spring is good (whenever, really - always happy to be on the salt).

matt, glad to see you posting again. i was wondering where you were. this cold weather has me thinking that i need to buy new blades for my auger. we will have to set some tipups over at white's pond in concord this winter. you will like ice fishing, i think.

ok, so if all the responses hold true, we have 6 that would want to book a trip. if we get any more interested....
