Anyone shooting anything?

Postby woodduck14 » Tue Dec 17, 2013 7:51 am

I'm on vacation for a week starting tomorrow. All my ponds and streams are locked up so I'm limited to about three places. Our season closes on the 28th, and it's coming quick. Anyone else been out?

I know this doesn't help much, but I'm anchored right off Philadelphia airport and I've been seeing large flocks of mallards, blacks, buffies and geese. If I had my calls and gun I'd have a boat load of birds. Landing along the bank maybe 200 yards from me. Once they pick up they make a clear route toward the south west. Migration is in full swing, good luck up there y'all, hope to catch the tail end of the season, we will see tho. Good luck and be safe!

My buddy hunted today and slammed sea ducks then went into an estuary and slammed puddlers! 4 gun limits all around,

Woody, since you are inland I would check the bigger rivers right now. Any open water is a good bet. Enjoy your vacation

My hunting partner shot this on 12/28/13. It came in to the decoys with 8 black ducks. Fairly well feathered out, but it didn't have much of a sprig.

Thanks Mike. It's the only one we shot this year in Mass.

I'm impressed. Good job! Just goes to show they're out there somewhere you just have to keep at it to get into them.

Is that drake as big in real life as it seems in the photo?
