Missing Duck Hunter

Hopefully this has a good outcome. If your in the area keep an eye out for anything that might be related to the case. PFD's are required by law this time of year for a good reason.

The kayak has been recovered, hoping for the best that he is stranded onshore somewhere.

real sad to see this story today. i keep checking to see if there is an update but havent seen it yet. be safe out there, everybody. let people know where youre headed, when you plan on returning, and wear a pfd. it sounds like this kid did all this but unfortunately it doesnt sound like it was enough this time. things can go wrong so quickly.

anybody heard an update?

Let us all remember what a dangerous sport that this can be. Never let your guard down. I am still hoping that this ends well.

This stinks. I tell my son this is why I don't take him during stormy or very cold weather. You guys know anything can happen and can happen quick, hunting and fishing.

Very sad deal all around. Just my view but a kayak or a canoe have no place in the late season. I'm hoping for a miracle.
A serious reduction in the population of black ducks would mean the end of waterfowl hunting for the majority of the New England sportsmen.

Awful to hear about this. I hope the person turns up somewhere alive and well.

in the article it was mentioned that he had one...hopefully he was wearing it, but obviously theyre not always enough to save you. 38 degree water and cold air temps. very little room for errors. such a sad story and i wish there was a way it could end well, but it is not looking good.

Ive been thinking about this poor kid being out in this cold and was hoping that maybe he was setting up his decoys and his kayak floated away on him or something and they would find him walking around on an island, Hoping he's ok somehow,

I have thought about this guy a lot the past couple days, hoping for a miracle, but I do not see how anybody could survive the weather these past couple of days. Such a sad story, an intelligent young man with a bright future. We all need to be very careful and not take any unnecessary chances out there. God bless Dana Dourdeville, his family, friends, and all the people out there searching for him.

It is because of this kind of thing that I carry a small emergency survival kit in my lifejacket. I've been thinking about this kid and praying for him but the weather has just been incredibly stacked against him. Thoughts and prayers to him and his family.

Bittersweet news. At least the family has closure. A big thanks goes out to the volunteers who spent days scouring the Buzzards Bay coastline and helped find Dana.
