I'm planning on goose hunting for the first time in September but I'm not sure if I'll be able to to find any good open fields before the season starts, so I'm going to plan on hunting on the water. I was just wondering if I should expect different things or use different techniques compared to field hunting. Also would 10 decoys be enough? Thanks.
My advice would be to find some mid morning loafing areas. Resident birds are dumb in my experience. If you can find out roughly where they want to be, you should be fine with 10 dekes.
