The Joppa Flats DU annual banquet will be held Friday, April 8th at 7pm in the Newbury Town Firehall.
The committee is trying hard to get newbies to attend (new to hunting and/or DU) and women as well as people who maybe took a flyer the past couple of years.
PM me if you are not on the DU distro list and would like to attend. Ill make sure you get added.
Thank You for the heads up. I have that down on the calendar now and will plan on attending. I used to go to the Beverly chapter but they are gone now...I don't know if your from up that way but....Does anyone still hunt on the Salsbury beach Jetties on the rocks. I was there in the summer and they have been rebuilt and are really flat. You can walk right out to the end. Years ago that used be a real hot spot. I remember retrieving shot ducks with a fishing pole and a surface plug so as to not send the dog into the mouth of the river. Some mornings it was non-stop shooting!
From DU Website;
FALL RIVER, Mass. - April 15, 2015 - The Top 100 is one of the most highly sought-after titles of recognition Ducks Unlimited offers to its local chapters. Each year, the list is comprised of the top 100 fundraising chapters in the United States that raise up to $100,000 through fundraising activities in their communities. Through the efforts of these volunteer committees, DU is able to pursue its mission of conserving, enhancing and restoring North America's wetlands. In 2014, the Atlantic Frontier chapter made the Top 100 list as one of the organization's best fundraising chapters.
Last call for the Joppa Banquet. We are close to record turnout. Please consider attending if you can. Lots of solid items in the various raffles and auctions this year. Hope to see you there.
