Went out today to the field that they have been flying to every morning for the last 3 months, and didnt see a damn thing. Who told them we were coming?

Heard a couple distant shots though

Went to Ann Arbor yesterday morning and got 5. Had two groups of three come in and saw a couple big flocks to the south. Heard a ton of shooting too.

Taking the canoe out tomorrow to jumpshoot a river, hopefully with some results.

I ended up with 5 birds and my Dad 3. Not a real good season numbers wise, but we had allot of fun. Didnt mean to sound negative in my other post, cause thats just not the case. Now that that seasons in the books we've been looking for their feather cousins for this weekends youth hunt. Yesterdays scouting trip had plent of promise.

6 total in 4 trips. Not much flying out of town, checked the mall area 5 miles North of me and there they were, don't even need to leave town anymore. Think part of the problem is the farmers giving up on wheat and planting more corn the last few years, figured they could make a bundle on ethanol making I guess. More Mallards and Woodies than I expected buzzing about
First it rained, then it blew, then it frizz, then it snew --- from an oldtimers gunning boat ~~ He understood what it's about!
