Yikes!! 70 degrees for this South Opener.

Postby Weedwacker » Mon Oct 04, 2010 5:02 am

Scouting last two weekends, taken in some great Woodcock and Grouse hunting, this weekend was awesome.

The weather was perfect 38 in the am and 52 during the day, now the South opener comes and its almost jet ski weather!!

Thats not real fun for upland hunting either.

Oh well, am sure the weather will change soon.

Good luck and be safe everyone.

I heard that on my way to work this morning, I'm a bit concerned. My 10 year old will be shooting for the first time this weekend, hope they are still flying.

Not looking forward to the heat of the day, but should make it easier to sleep in the boat on Friday night

Yea, I'm that a$$hole whose truck is at the launch when you show up thinking you got an early start

I was pretty disappointed when I saw that too, especially as it has been cool the last little bit. I was hoping for a cold opener, it just doesnt really feel like duck hunting if it is 70 degrees outside.
A year from now, you'll wish you had started today.

By the time it gets that warm I intend to be long done for the day and sitting comfortably watching UM/MSU, brewskies are in stock. Temps irrelevant, would rather see some clouds, wind and it's associated weather........... it's early, it's normal and the seasons finally on
First it rained, then it blew, then it frizz, then it snew --- from an oldtimers gunning boat ~~ He understood what it's about!

Sitting here in the 5th wheel, Laptop fired up and looking out across the fields, Guys coming back in now with a few. We hunted the am in the draw and did good, seems to be a LOT of hens, Flocks of 15 + in the decoys and we could not shoot (do not shoot hens on purpose). did get the drakes out of a few groups. will be out again in the morning.

Ran the heat last night but other than that it has been warm, Had the AC going on Sat.
