Building A Spread

Postby A_Winnie » Sun Aug 12, 2012 6:30 pm

Duck season is approaching fast and I was wondering what kinds of decoys I could add to my all mallard spread to give it a little sizzle and get more duck to come in? Any advise would be appreciated

I mainly use mallards but I also throw our some teal and wigeon. I also use a few black ducks and pintails for later in the season. Throwing a few geese never hurts either. Good luck

I know a guy who uses a 4:1 goose to duck ratio. His logic is ducks will land with geese but geese dont typically land with ducks. My logic is goose decoys are about ten times more expensive then duck decoys and im broke
