So how did everyone's season go??

Postby NuffDaddy » Mon Jan 28, 2013 5:47 pm

Late goose is coming to an end I'm all put away for the year. Anybody have any good stories? With the low water I did minimal bay hunting and spent most of my time at fish point WMA. Lots of pressure but good times were had throughout the season. Couple of my buddies went swimming but I stayed dry.

My best day was at the end of October just before a storm front. I couldn't get anyone to go so I went by myself. Picked a field away from the guys with fresh water. Got a teal first thing in the morning, should of had 2. Then at about 9 the rain started and the mallards started to move. Got 3 singles in about 15 min then the lightning started and the birds quit so I quit. Had a beautiful sunrise to top it off.

Not too bad, I know I'm not in Michigan now but I'm from there and I like to stick to this forum sometimes. Had a mixed bag of gadwalls, scaups, teal and mallards throughout the season. Didnt get many pics wish I had, my buddy I went with most days took most of the pictures I think. Had a great time, got skunked a few days but that's definitely just part of it. But the best part was getting my buddy into it. My brother who is currently in MI took quite a few Geese and even took two in one shot. I think Geese was pretty much all he brought home this season.

I noticed there to be a lot of geese around this season. I never really targeted geese and ended up with 4 compared to the 1 I got lat season. Thumbsup on bringing new guys into the sport.

pretty much the same for me. I think it's about time to change season dates.

No I think there was an El Niño that caused warm/late winters, it will go back to normal.

Agreed, I should be shooting locals during the late season, not flight ducks!
