How did everyone do?

I hunted two different spots today. Tons of ducks! I'm a bad shot :pissed: . I got itchy with my new gun and shot a little early on a group that finally came in. A lot of hunters all day! My buddies got a couple of drakes and one woody. The guys next two us were shooting at the ducks that were circleling OUR DECOYS :pissed: . Overall a good day. Almost had a tree fall on me and almost flipped a conoe. My new benelli kicks like a mule, and I love it!

We got to our spot and found 18 boats trying to find a spot on a 25-30 acre lake. We didn't feel like having shot charges fly over our head or getting peppered with steel so went to plan B and found a lake down the road where no one was at. Didn't see a thing all day. Maybe there's a reason why no one was there lol. I'm not gonna give up on that spot though cause it looks like it might be one of those things where it's dead now but may get busy when the ducks start feeling the pressure.

Hunted the bay off kitchen road.... What a zoo!! :help: Had some good opportunities though. All in all it was fun, got to see a 12 year old get some shootin  Tons of Teal, most I have seen in five years out there. Very shallow water, probably a foot lower than last year. Ended with 1 beautiful wall hanger of a wood duck.

Another crap day. Although I found a new spot that does not need a boat that has lots of ducks. We had a run in with some sky busters so I think we will wait untill the weekday to hunt.

been up posting in the honey hole forum, but i though id stop down and say hey to my michigan brotheren. opening day we got 9 ducks and today we only got 2. what a difference a day makes. we had zilch for water where we had the dekes set yesterday. and, the ducks were high fliers today. we need some nasty weather.

so far weve killed wigeon, GW teal, mallards, blue bills, and gadwalls. nice variety, and we're only two days in....sweet...anybody get into any blacks yet?

good huntin'

Opening day 4 of us killed 6 mallards, 5 wood ducks, 5 GW teal, 3 ringnecks, 2 gadwall, 1 pintail, 1 BW teal and 4 geese. The goose my brother killed was banded. Best opener I've ever had.

Today 6 of us killed 24 mallards, 9 wood ducks, and 4 more geese.

Best start to a season ever!

Basically passed on the weekend. Helped a landowner instead of hunting Saturday, picked up another farm for the effort. Finished most everything that needs to get done for the fall today, then made the mistake of watching the Lions

hunted maple river about 4 miles west of 127. had our two man limit of woodies in the first 15 minutes. had to watch as many more woodies landed in the spread for the next hour and a half. ended the day with 4 woodies 2 teal and a mallard. water was real high, overflowing into the timber. If the water stays high, I will be hunting some flooded timber next week.
