Alright here it is, I know no body is going to give away there spots which I don't blame you. I am just asking for a near by public boat launch to a near by spot where ducks are located or have been seen. My buddies and I are headed up that way for a one day hunt blind folded this weekend. We have a 1.5 hr drive and we would just like help to get a few duck. Like I said don't give me your hot spot but a spot where we can kill a few. I would appreciate it guys if you could help.
Launch just north of houghton on old 27. I would suggest going up the day before you plan in hunting and do a little scouting. No one is going to give you a spot to go.

And, plan on spending the night prior on the water where your going to hunt
As I remember it, that lake is very sensitive about hunters and "touching the bottom or private property"...
1.5 hour drive, I drive that far to work everyday !!
No no I'm not asking anyone to give up there spots, I know how the game works but I just wanted to directed to a launch that's would be close to some cattails and stuff. I'm going to try and get up there early enough to scout a bit but my buddies work later so by the time we get there it might be dark.

One quick question, I was looking at the map of houghton lake and it looks like there are houses all over the lake, is there any spots where it cattails and places that are hunt able. I have been hearing from people that say on that lake the house owners get real upset with us waterfowlers hunting that lake.

Read my post about four post up, that's what I said.
It's 98% homes on the shore line, and bottom of lake is in their property deed, to center of lake. ( something like that).
Why are you so driven to hunt this piece of water, without anyone who knows all these little items
Yea I guess I miss that part, well we found another spot that we r going to hunt. I just heard duck hunting on that lake can be good. I'm just anxious to kill some ducks. I can't wait 10 more days for our season I open so that's why I decided houghton lake but we found another spot to go up there

We headed west of houghton lake reedsburg damn and we saw a lot I ducks but there were just to many guys. Ducks would not settle down and it was all past shooting we would have some locked down and someone else would shoot and those ducks would take off. We only got one. It was just hell out there. It was a nice set up out there besides all the stumps. Thanks to the mud motors tht helped out a lot out there.
