Hey guys-- I have had a wood duck box out in a swamp 2 yrs now and not one nester. Its in a tree about 6 feet high. Am i ni\ot high enuff or maybe vice versa?

It just depends if the bird finds it fit or not i have put up some and it just seemed that they would randomly pick them all were the same height and some boxes had many brewds and some just had marsh birds. They tend to lean towards boxes that are over water even though they will nest in them in a box or tree with land under if water is near by. Also the whole size for the opening and the chicken wire on the front also is a factor because if they can't get in they won't nest. The bedding in the nest should be something along the lines of cedar shavings 1/3 of the way filled because the hen woodie will make the way she wants with different grasses and feathers.
