Anybody use it? I haven't been there is several years, go right by it on the way to Quanicassee or FP. Is the launch usabel? Last time I was by there, several years ago, it needed a good dredge job down at the end by the wooden platform. Used to launch out of there some, might like to try it again if you can get out from there.
I know its was dredged last year, and everytime I've gone down there theres trucks and trailers there so it must not be to bad. I just haven't been there when some ones there launching. I have been wondering the same thing. I talked to a couple of guys that went out of there last year and they said it was 3' deep at the end of the channel markers. I might just have to give it a shot one of these mornings.
Thanks for the reply. I get by there only a couple of times a year anymore, and the last time I ran up to the launch, you couldn't get past the platform at the end. This was several years ago, and I just didn't get back up there.
I have just been going on past and launching at Quanicassee and running back towards Essexville when I go out there.
I drive a white Silverado short box with HRC stickers in the back window. I'll be making the rounds this weekend, probably stop at Finn Rd. and have a look. Calling for very high winds, small craft advisory. 16 ft jon ain't made for 35 knot gusts. May have to move inland or play bingo.
I have a 20' War eagle with a 60 horse on it and we have launched out of there a few times in the past couple years. It has a nice ramp and everything but i don't recommend launching there on any kind of South wind b/c the water gets blown out. with that said however the water levels are up about a foot from last year and i haven't yet launched there this year so it may be fine on even a south wind now.
I drive a White QC Dakota and have a 16' Chrestliner boat with fold down blind. I have to work this weekend but I might try it thursday morning, or next weekend I have off.
Thanks for the replies. Was away for a couple of days, just got back home.
