Merganser regs.....

Postby Mr. 16 gauge » Wed Sep 28, 2005 5:56 am

Just curious: do mergansers count against your 6 duck/day bag, or are they in addition to.....just read the regs on line, and it seems that they are a seperate bag limit. I.E., if I shoot a teal, 4 mallards, and a hooded merganser, am I done for the day, or can I take on more 'real' duck?

I always thought they counted against the bag limit, but the more I read the regs, the more I think it is a seperate bag limit (like coots).

Shoot all of those that you want! This is copied from the DNR handbook.

See daily limit restrictions for ducks and mergansers. The merganser daily limit is in addition to the duck daily limit.
