Have any of you MN duck hunters been shooting any banded divers? Post pictures. Thanks

No pics. I have two redhead bands and a goldeneye. I was with my dad when he bagged a can.

I unfortunately have not taken any banded birds yet. Of those I've seen taken by friends, I've never seen a banded diver duck.

I believe the majority of the banded birds are mallards, goose, and swan species. My little cousin took a banded wood duck on youth waterfowl day last year, which was very cool. The first, and possibly only duck of his life was banded...

Hopefully I get him hooked on quack, then he can chase birds for a decade without getting another band...and maybe then he'll realize how cool it was to get a band on duck #1.

I know few folks that have gotten then in the state. No divers bands for me. They are definitely less common than mallard or canada goose bands.

I have heard reports from last year that they have started to band larger numbers of Blue Bills recently in Minnesota not sure if it is all truth but it is what I have heard. I have yet to shoot a banded bird but I would absolutely love it if it was a diver. The only thing better than a banded diver would be a big ol' banded drake shoveler.

Found it. Guess they banded them in Iowa, but they are divers none the less.
