Might have an upcoming emergency

Postby beretta24 » Sun Apr 14, 2013 11:11 am

I have a trip to Webster, SD planned for my bach party in a couple weeks. The problem is they have a sh** ton of ice left. The current back up plan is heading to the MO river, but then we'll basically be in a hotel instead of a lodge with our own kitchen, fire pit etc.

Anyone have any ideas? We've been planning o a fishing trip to keep the costs reasonable but I am open to suggestions.

Where on the MO river are you going. I can ask my dad he lives in Brandon, SD about if he knows of anything on the MO river with lodge type set up. I am heading out to Chamberlain, SD on the 3rd of May.

Why not run to LOTW? I'd imagine they are still waking out onto the ice, but I have no evidence to support that idea

We have a place booked in Chamberlain. People have been doing very well there this spring but we'll see if things hold together for another week.

One issue with LOW, at least on the MN side a closed walleye season I believe. Mostly it's just damned far away. We can shave a couple hours off going to SD. Thanks for the notes though.

LOTW - 33" clear ice with water in spots April 13, 2013. Pressure ridges will most likely start to push now. Get's to be sketchy from here on out. Be safe.....mauser
