Anyone do any Marsh Hen/rail hunting MN wild rice?

Postby Joe Guide » Sun Aug 11, 2013 9:57 am

When I was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Station, I met some Minnesota Waterfowlers who talked about poling their jon boats after Rail (Marsh Hens) during the early season.

Although the majority of marsh hen hunting is done along the Atlantic Seaboard inshore: NJ, VA-GA I would like to hear from MN waterfowlers who hunted marsh hens in the wild rice fields of MN.

I am finishing up writing a hunting book on Marsh Hen hunting, but never hunted in Minnesota, so I'd appreciate hearing from Minnesota Waterfowlers who have hunted rails (Marsh hens) in early September. They would contact me via PM if they desire.
