I'm not from there... But yeah, can't wait.
I went into the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

I have my gear ready to go, all I need need now is for the geese to start flying, my guess is I won't see any tomorrow but who knows, maybe the few that are around will be up and moving if they get shot at. Either way I'm excited.

Decided to get out of town this weekend and let it calm down around me. Too many yahoos scouting this morning, I packed up and headed out. Got a nice pasture with about 150 geese this evening. Should be a great way to kick off the season. Good luck and be safe.

Had a decent morning but not to many moving today. Ended the day with a good mix of geese doves and pigeons. All in all a great day of shooting and its good to know that I can still hit something.

Not a good opener for us either and only manage to drop a loner. So many stupid people sky bustin and I thought I was a rookie. Might go for morning doves instead now.

weekend. hardly saw anything moving in the area. it was a crap shoot to begin with since we didn't have fields locked up that were holding birds, but I was surprised by the lack of movement and shooting in the area

Nothing on Sunday, 5 today, I got caught with my pants down, literally. Long johns got too hot after the sun came out so I'm taking them off in the layout blind and I here a honk, 5 were up high and locked up. I got 1 of them.

Is it just me or does it seem like the birds are not moving like they usually do. They seem very sporadic (spelling?) and inconsistent... I am paying attention in a different part of the state than I usually hunt be even back where I use to hunt they have not been having very good numbers moving. anyone else in the same boat?

Hunted sunday morning and got skunked.

There were 30-40 feeding in field all week then Sunday morning some guys decided to shoot at them as they flew off the lake.

But numbers were definitely down from the wet spring or something.

I hope they at least took decent shots and weren't sky busting wasting the hunt...

We couldn't see the guys but I was hoping the same thing!

We did here them shoot 3 different times with delayed "kill" shots, so its possible they were sky busting.

Went scouting Saturday and found a bunch of ducks but no geese. Hunted an alfalfa/hay field Sunday & Monday and got a flock to finish each day. Should've dropped more than we did, but it was still awesome watching the first flocks of the year cup in. Saw lots of groups of 10-30 and hardly any loners or pairs.

Monday morning went after doves instead of geese and had a blast. 60 doves down and in the truck before 8:30. Ended the weekend with 105 doves, 6 geese, and 17 pigeons(1 double banded). Definately a good time. Hoping to get in a little more windshield time this week and find a little better spot for the weekend.

I was on 94 headed west last night around sunset and I only saw 3 groups of geese. I'm just not seeing alot of birds flying around this fall, but its been brutally hot the past week and I think it will pick up later in September when the non-breeding geese start heading back through the state. I'm just noticing more groups of ducks flying around as well.

Last night west of st cloud around 7pm or so the sky exploded with geese. Saw more in the air in an hour and a half span than I have all year. They are around I think they just haven't been flying too much recently. hopefully they continue to move now, though this hot weather coming in this weekend doesn't leave me too hopeful.
