Busy week at work. The beginning of the fourth quarter is a real B!TCH! All my crap is up in Parkers at the farm except my gun, ammo, and calls. Heading up Friday to meet the rest of the guys for the weekend.

Aside from that...

This split is killer anyways. Just realized I'll be deer hunting the next week/two since I don't have anywhere/had money to run way up North.

I love em, my dad and I both have 32'' mag10s, and I also have a 30" sp10. I'd have to say that I like the Ithaca more than the sp10. The last 2 years I almost exclusively shot 10 gauge and had a lot of luck with it. This year I've been switching it up with a 20 gauge but it's gonna be fun to get the 10 back out later on this season.

Congrats Woodrow! :clapping:

If it's any consolation, my wife was climbing steep hills 2 days before our daughter was born, and then we had our little girl out on a boat by 6 weeks!

And did you say you built that bunk house? It looks great, and I want more details! I'm making plans to build something just like that.

I hunt alone a lot, so I've had to get good using the self-timer on my phone.

I was really trying to look like Mark Wahlberg in movie poster from one my favorite movies, "Shooter." Which I strongly reccomend if you haven't seen it yet. Its a great man flick.

Nailed it!

Lookin' good MD!

If you like books, Shooter is based on the novel, Point of Impact by Stephen Hunter.

WAY better than the movie...

He has a few books that use the Bob Lee Swagger persona.

Wikki says...
Novels[edit]
Bob Lee Swagger Series
-------------------------------
Point of Impact (1993)
Black Light (1996)
Time to Hunt (1998)
The 47th Samurai (2007)
Night of Thunder (2008)
I, Sniper (2009)
Dead Zero (2010)
The Third Bullet (January 2013)

Also another series
Earl Swagger Series
------------------------
Hot Springs (2000)
Pale Horse Coming (2001)
Havana (2003)
Ray Cruz[edit]
Dead Zero (2010)
Soft Target (2011)

This is his oldest as I can recall
The Master Sniper (1980)

I actually enjoy reading in the blind when it's dead and I don't feel like packing up.

A couple of other fast reads that I absolutly love and collect and I find entertaining are:

The Executioner by Don Pendelton
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Execut ... ook_series)

Mack Bolan
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mack_Bolan

Phoenix Force
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_Force

Able Team
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Able_Team

Stony Man
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stony_Man

All short, fast and entertaining books...

Check the forecast in your area for this weekend; this will separate the men from the children; like last Saturday I never heard a gun shot around while it was down pouring but Sunday all of the kids came out to play I guess.
Should be the same story this weekend.

Sure wish it wasn't closed in our area this weekend, but i will be happy later when it is still open. I will be out somewhere regardless. Just need to put in a little windshield time this week. Sure wouldn't mind being on a nice honker hunt this weekend. Birds should be moving.

I need to be more like that. I can stay out a long time as long as I'm not hungry. Then not even good cell reception can keep me in the blind.

Point of impact is a good read for sure. I knew the movie was familiar. I read the book 20 tears ago and didn't put 2&2 together.

I moved my TV to in front of my living room window just so I can run outside and shoot. I got 2 geese of my front steps last year!!! Not sure if I could read and do that.

My mutt telling me to quit missing the teal. If only she had thumbs and a trigger finger.

About the only time the book comes out is when the action has slowed down and I don't want to pack up. Usually when that happens, the ducks are mostly done, and it's time to wait on canadas. You don't miss much, as those heavies typically will let you know their coming...

got a couple more but sisters phone wont send them to me but. this is her second year duck hunting. and if it wasn't for her I wouldn't have got my boat done intime for season. she didn't have to good of time last year. but being her second year she doesn't have that jump part down. lol. first set of ducks landed in decoys and me wanting her to do first shootin im like say you gona shoot them ducks
oh and she kinda lolly gags a bit. and misses and I fallow up a shot and drop one. so then we try to get her dog out that shes been workin with all year doesn't even want to get outa the boat so I jump out go get the duck and rearrange goose decoys out a bit since we just had 2 fly over talkin like crazy and didn't want to come down. and toss the duck at dog and he runs back to the boat. while growling at me. I get that a bit maybe because I have more hair then them ive been told. then it goes dead an listen to the other end of the lake just havin a war. kinda getting mad at myself because wanting to give her a good hunt since she drives 60miles one way 2 hunt with her big brother. well another hen woodie comes just fluttering in im like you gona shoot it so I jump up fire miss reaim fire and the duck tucks his but like I was close 3rd shot miss and the duck flys around the bend I just shake my head and shes laughin shes like so you gona shoot it or wat. couple min later we had a pair come in and she jumpd up and dumpd first duck I got the second which was a swimmer and of course the dog didn't do a dang thing. so I go chasing and duck makes to other shore and gone. she tosses the dog out 15yrds from the dead one and he goes and gets it finally and its a drake woody nice colors and her first also. shes all bouncy now. another hen comes in and I drop it and the dog finally goes and gets it. :clapping: . then we wait and wait and wait while textin another buddy about a lake I wantd to go to but guys that were to come backd out at last min in the morning and they were sayin there were a ton of ducks once again mad. now its about 11 and thinkin the gees gota be comin back soon and then I hear it a lone goose and its less then 100yds off. I start workin on it. and its talkin like crazy. goose comin right to left. directly in front of us im thinkin YOU GONA SHOOT now its off to the left on my side goose was just inches from touch down and 2 barks from the 12g to my right. faster then I even new a pump could shoot. shes like omg I just got my first goose wait did you shoot im like no I didn't even fire.....then she tossd the dog out and hes tryin to retrieve decoys  and the goose lifts his head and starts to swim off and I jump out and go runnin threw soupy mud with only the 3 shells in the 20g. well im now 50yrds away from boat and with only 1 shell left and hes still 20yrds out he lifts his head up I take aim and finish him. and his wing goes straight up and catches the wind. I finally catch up to him and im coughin a weezin harder then when I smoked. but shes pretty happy girl.

sorry if I get to long and tomany pictures up but im pictures and story kinda guy.

Hillbilly that's great that you are getting your sister out. Even if it "could have been better with the boys", you did the right thing.
