Thinking this is gonna be easy today being there is just two of us boy was I wrong the wind seemed to change directions about every 20 mins had a couple flocks working us trying the best the could to get in some did up to 8 or 9 passes out at around 45ish yards but just could not get them to where I like to shoot them oh well it has been a good season hate to see it go..what really scares me is the weather we have coming there may not be much for goose hunting by the weekend.. There is a few around now but nothing like normal for this time of year lots and lots of ducks and few geese

That is great but it needs to be pheasant instead.

Since moving back up from Texas my long time dream has been to hunt in snow fall.

Well its coming true now. Cut corn field. Solo hunt with Calvin.
Hope to have some pictures for Y'all soon.

Only saw one flock of 100-/+ fly over.
Hope Weds is a different story.

Ended like this:

Last day of the MN duck season didn't turn out as well as expected but did manage a few mallards on a backwater area of the Mississippi and got to spend some time with a couple buddies I haven't hunted with in a while. Buddy's dog wasn't a fan of the ice and mine was wore out from pheasant hunting the day before. Plan C was to send the smallest guy out on the ice if we needed to, luckily all stayed dry and we got all of our ducks. Now time to find a late season goose hunting spot.

Looks and sounds worse than it was. Backwater is shallow about waist deep and we carry picks with. Wasn't bad once he was up just getting on the ice was the issue. And he's about 135 soaking wet so he didn't see an issue. Ice was about 4 inches on the other side. As far as risky, ya a little but not too bad.

Even wearing all my gear and loaded with shells, I think I'd still weigh less than him. Some how my work health screening said I weighed 123.

That ice picture reminds me of the year we ice fished day after Thanksgiving. My buddy made me "test" the ice. He literally tied a rope to an inner tube and had me walk out there with the inner tube around my waste. Nuts!

I would hunt with you in this situation...I'm 6'7" and about 260lbs....most likely won't be the "littlest" guy there :grooving:
Quoted from my wife while I am tapping on my iPad, "Are you talking about ducks again?"
