The former is effective, but could damage a bird intended for the wall, and while I've tried the later I soon found it took too long from my perspective.

I've seen some pretty funny stuff said on here, not sarcastically.

I remember some cat on here once said "I only use BB on ducks, reason being it leaves no cripples"

Tyler Zent is my favorite banned poster. He has the infamous "rain kead!" post.

Not sure if your referring to a post of mine, I had one saying I have success with 1s and BB with a patternmaster. Tight choke + big shot has reduced cripples for me. Never had a duck where the meat was ruined.

Ya I mostly shoot BB, I actually like 1s a little more but fleet farm almost never stocks them. Early in the year when there's lots of teal around I shoot 3s but once there's mostly big ducks around I use BBs. I've had good luck with big shot anyways, maybe others haven't. Its all a matter of personal preference, whats worked for you in the past.

No Stu, it wasn't you that I was referring too.

I shoot 4s and 3s the first few weekends then I usually shoot 2s but keep a handful of BBs close in case the geese are flying. I hunt over decoys and most of my shots are pretty close. On top of all that I can't hit nothing past 45 anyways.

I here ya, I do my best to get em close, on bigger water with other hunters around its tough. Definitely nothing better than gettin em in close!!! If I can't get them to finish.........BB and a pattern master :), if all else fails I usually bring the 10 with, hahahaha.

Best 10 gauge goose load I've found has been federal red box BBB, don't make them anymore, havent tried blue box 10s yet, black cloud BBs work good, kind of expensive though, 26 bucks a box on sale.

I still have a few F shot shells here and there from my dad, but in all honesty I'm afraid to bring them with because I don't know if they are lead or steel. Suppose a magnet would help me with that...

#2s here. From opener through close. I have the occasional cripple but I attribute that to me not the shot. Granted if a teal or woodie gets close it can be hamburger.

Used BB last year for late goose, seemed to work good but this was my first year goose hunting.

Still thinking I would like to try some after market chokes.

I shot 2-4s for ducks and BB for goose. If I'm field hunting I usually just use BB for everything, but I'm usually targeting geese then.

I use 3's for the first part of the season then 1's for later in the year. I shot the only 2 geese with 3's this past season killed them both dead. Maybe I should stick to 3's
