North Mississippi hunting

Postby quackhunter99 » Thu Dec 08, 2011 10:45 am

I might be headed to Oxford next year for college and I was wondering if it would be worth bringing my hunting stuff or not. What is the public hunting like in the area. Is there even places to hunt. I just want to know if I should take my stuff with me or if it would be a waste. Thanks

No, the delta runs alongside the Mississippi river the entire length of the river, which also includes the entire length of our state.

This Thursday should be good to go.Would like to see cold front break us into winter. It's good that we got the rain last week. We need some more. Too many places with no water and no birds.

About the oxford move, you will probably find yourself hunting Sardis Lake more than any where else. The delta is about 1hr 15 minutes west of there. And the Delta is mostly private. You need a boat so you can hunt the lake. No need to get in a hurry though. I don't think the birds will show up untill around christmas day.
