Delta Waterfowl joins forces with Mississippi State and Delta Regional Duck Calling Contest dates announced - Jackson, Mississippi - May 15th (Posted May 16, 2007)
Two of the regions top duck-calling contests have announced their dates and schedule of events.
The Delta Regional Duck Calling Contest and Mississippi State Duck Calling Contest will be held on Saturday, August 4th, at the Trademart on the Mississippi State Fairgrounds in Jackson.
Both events are sanctioned contests, and the winners qualify for the prestigious World's Championship Duck Calling Contest held Thanksgiving weekend in Stuttgart, Arkansas.
This year marks Delta Waterfowl's first association with the day-long event, joining Mossy Oak and Mean Mallard as primary event sponsors. "This is a great way to illustrate Delta's commitment to the future of waterfowl and celebrate the upcoming hunting season," says Bryan King, Delta Waterfowl's Regional Director.
In addition to the sanctioned events, the day's competitions will include a youth- calling contest (10 a.m.) followed by a team duck-calling competition. The Delta Regional contest kicks off at 1 p.m., and the Mississippi State contest rounds out the day.
Registration for all events begins at 9:00 AM.
"These contests have emerged as some of the most competitive events of their kind in the U.S.," says Larry Simons, Delta Waterfowl member and contests Chairman. "We have developed a proud tradition of conducting first-rate contests and sending competitive callers to Stuttgart, while providing a fun event for waterfowlers and their families. We know this year's event will generate the same excitement and enthusiasm as before with 3 World Champion Callers on our judge panel, including the reigning world champion, Jim Ronquest."
