Public land

Postby Pdm2931 » Thu Nov 15, 2007 6:00 pm

I am from ga and once a year (going on three years) my friend and I go on a duck hunting trip. I have gone to mahanna wma the past two years and did not to any good at all (no ducks). I heard the mahanna is draw hunt now. I was wondering if anyone new some good public hunting in the state or the surrounding states that we might be able to try. Not looking for your honey holes but for someone to point me in the general direction.

I guess I been so busy all year, I did not hear this. You mean all the state WMAs, like O'Keefe are now on a draw basis?

Actually duckbeus, after checking with the state game and fish, they stated that:
"The only waterfowl draw hunts are:
Mahannah, Muscadine, Trim Cane, Tuscumbia, Neshoba County Lake, and Howard Miller."

Shield hunters away. Hell, the lack of ducks ought to do that just fine.

I had a GREAT hunt at Muscadine last year, but, it was frozen...except where all the duck butts where sittin'. Went by there yesterday...Y'all should have fun

If I where looking for a spot without doing any scouting, Id head to the river...with a good sized boat

Check this link. Roll down for a list of management areas.

There's a reason it's called huntin' and fishin' instead of killin' and catchin'
