Just bear with me

Postby openwaterhunter2 » Tue Nov 15, 2005 6:37 am

I know it isn't a duck and should prolly go in the big game but I am dang proud of my first bear. 284 # field dressed, 77" from nose to tale, 6 1/2 " across his pads, 2 1/8" claws and his head was 31" around ( Hide and all not just skull). I killed him 2 miles from the boat and here we can't quarter em out so it was a 6 and 1/2 hours drag. I shot him at 65 yards up in a big hickory tree. Aimed at his eye and hit a 1/4 " high.

bear hunting is soo much fun. Its almost as good as busting some geese.

I forgot to load my gun when the dogs ran me a 300 + black bear.
needless to say i was upset. I had to unload it because we where in a boat.
