shoot a cow.

As many times as I've had those damn wild ponies traipse through my decoys or deer set up, you get no sympathy from me, sir.

Careful. Turkeys are known to put on cow costumes to avoid detection during hunting season.

You should shoot one and check inside for turkeys

haha. Cow antics are always part of my turkey season it seems. I've seen cows chase and butt turkeys, and once had a 1200 lb bull instigate a Mexican standoff with a jake decoy. One of those stupid things licked my hen today.

point of note TNAL...if you are hunting turkeys where cows are present, you can sneak right up close to a turkey on the limb by leaning over at the waist putting your back parallel to the ground. the horizontal profile looks like a cow to the turkey. I schitz you not.

I once spent an entire day putting cattails rushes on a duck blind. I even put two "wings" made out of two long saplings on each side and covered those with cattails to help break up the boxy shape of the blind.

I must have hauled 15 boatloads of cattails - - -

I came out the next day to set decoys and you could not have filled a bushel basket with what was left - - -

and there were cow tracks all around the blind - - -

I was just hoping they did not die from the staples used to hold the rushes on - - - probably would make it hard to renew our lease

I've played that game occasionally, but usually well before daylight. Had a jake stay into the trees behind me until about 9:30 today. Maybe I shoulda put the cajun sneak on him. :lol3:

There used to be a donkey that roamed one of our haunts, and she was very friendly. If she saw us coming she would follow us in. I watched her stand right next to dad for a couple hours one morning. Dad dropped a bird when she was around, and she insisted on investigating it. We often joked about using her for a blind, but never actually tried it before she died. It would have made a good "Indastory" I'm sure.
