, this is 100% a hoax. The US Government mandates that all wells drilled on US soil have a concrete "casing" poured around the well bore to protect the freshwater aquifer. This casing must extend ~500ft down into the ground (this depth may vary in certain states with deep water tables). At such depths, the water table is actually mainly saline in content, and not deemed "freshwater". This is just the first of many steps of "casing" used in completing wells.
