Well if it was that easy to get rid of him we could have changed it a long time ago.

I bet we could PM each other our #1 and it be the same.

Plucked the last birds of the season this afternoon, a Mallard drake, a mottled duck drake, a Canvasback hen, 2 scaup drakes, and one greenwing drake. these will be tagged for soup for next year. Not my preferred birds for soup, but they'll have to do. They were all fat as hell though, except for the mottled-he was a young bird and not a lot of fat on him. The Canvasback was the fattest I have ever seen. a good 1/2" layer everywhere under the skin.

Looks like it'll only be a double batch instead of a triple for next season. That is unless I add some of the canada goose we shot in lubbock.

This season here has been just as bad. I don't even have enough birds to make a batch of gumbo. I guess seafood will suffice. I do plan on doing the orange glaze though for that line gadwall in the freezer.

Circled six times, left, flew about a 1/2 mile away, turned around, circled six times, landed, died. I need to invest in a speck call one of these days. Any good cheap speck calls out there?

Haydel's makes one that is serviceable. Hard to make all the range of sounds on it though. Rick Hall can give you better advice than me though.

The cheapest good ones I'm aware of are the poly RNT and Haydel SP-04, but a $65 poly Riceland is, I think, a better call that's easier to run.

Thanks for the info,Inda, Rick, Quack and Mo

I guess the mods should start taking applications to see who gets the ban from this internet forum. :hi:

I'm sure they have accepted your lack of effort as the first application. Congratulations! And good luck!
