I started both of my boys with one of those when they were 7. That gun went through two boys, lots of shells ant took the lives of many creatures. The full choke and 3 inch 5's were a good 35 yard turkey load. The gun threw a slug straight to 50 yards and the boys killed many ducks, geese, doves, turkeys , and deer with that gun. I don't think you will be dissappointed. When practicing for turkeys, if you hunt them, have him shoot light loads at a target and you pattern the gun for him with the real shells. Put in the 3incher on the day of the hunt, he will never know the difference. Good luck and great memories to come

Thanks for the advice cujo. We plan on putting a lot of memories on that gun.

Probably do what you said. Just gotta make a trip to the store. My dad had grown the other peppers and jarred em and gave em to me so that's why I said I don't have any more.

Do you always use a decoy? Just a jake or hen also? I'm a decoy skeptic.

They can hurt as much as they help, I hardly use one if im gun hunting unless im sitting a field... For evening field hunts they are 100% the ticket with little to no calling... Bow hunting I always use one, helps draw attention off me. But I have found when you use a real looking decoy it helps trememdously over the old flambeau foamers... In the woods 95% of the tiem I don't like using them unless OPEN woods. seen many birds startle when they run into a deke in close quarters.

only turkeys I've ever seen startle from a decoy are lone jakes and two year olds....sub dominate birds that have had their azzes kicked by the dominate birds.

Ive seen both spook as well as hens, once our season starts birds get decoy shy fast. But that's hunting public land most times too. Helps tremendously on our birds if the decoy looks real. Indiana Youth season coming next weekend, my wife is taking the kid I took to KY and I am taking a cousins son. Next year my daughter will be hunting with me, hoping a 20 gauge will fit her at 6 years old if not crossbow it will be.

Damn I just got bored and that cost me.... working a midnight shift, washed truck, cleaned windows check, Then I sat down on amazon and ebay and spent 250 bucks on choke tubes, boat steering wheel, Pack frame for ground blind, terminal eyes for cables, phone case like a little midnight shopping spree....

Going sat eve to look at a 14x48 with a 2010 20 HP Nissan tiller on it...... what value would u put on that motor and anyone like Nissan?

I run mine on 220 so they think I'm just running the dryer a lot. I just want some organic grass.

I buy a house with electric heat, then switch it to gas while substituting in a hydro system with similar electrical load. that sticky

Thats thinking. 220 is more efficient. but your idea might work better.

I'm going to put some down Sunday. I like to do it when the yard is wet, then fertilize the rest of the yard. Unless anyone knows how to make Dandelion wine.
