I wanna know more about this gig. How you go about it, planning, logistics.

Basis is you need to have a pickup point and dropoff point. Depending on where you go, usually there is a good bit of public launch points, or in worst case, look for road bridges. You'll have a bit more carrying to get your stuff launched, but everything is so light it's not a huge deal.

When we do a weekend trip, like this weekend, you gotta have all your gear and have it fit in your vessel. So think about cooking, food, and sleeping. Most of my buddies sleep in hammocks, which are super easy to packup / setup and pack small / light. If I bring my dog, I take a tent. If drinking, remember pack in / pack out. So a bottle of liquor or bag of wine is usually easier than a bunch of cans of beer. Although beer works well for keeping a cooler cold. For food, if we have the room we'll take a camp grill. If not, we just plan meals around pie irons and camp forks. It's not hard to eat really well. Things like granola, trail mix, peanut butter / fruit are great.

Planning depends a lot of the body of water. If it's floating vs paddling. Speed of the current, and the distance you travel. If you carry a gps, you can easily figure out whether you need to speed up or slow down if you want to make it to a halfway point the first night to camp. We camp either on islands in the middle of the river, or on flat spots along the way. Most of the places we go this is legal, if not you have to figure that out.

Sounds pretty cool. I always want to do a day trip but never have. I live on The Little Auglaize but am afraid I'll be dragging more than floating.

Love the jacks fork.

The house next door closed today. New neighbor is moving in, freshly divorced mid 40s with 3 daughters: middle school, high-school, and college.

One was a six day the other a 7or 8 can't remember. The last few pools of jacks fork we caught 16 smallies over 18" they were fierce that day. Hard to plan first trip had to use iodine tabs last 2 days and boil water. We ate good though.

Bad news fellas, went by my brothers house for the first time in a while, his neighbors now have two pitbulls on the porch.

I told him I was the favorite son anyway, so better him than me.

Titz decided it was best to tell me that he was related to Whistling wings one day. They they were brothers and WW took off to Texas on a swimming scholarship and never came back.

He betrayed me, and knifed me deep
