Pictures of Hunting's Past

Postby Trois_beaux_canards » Sat Dec 17, 2005 7:53 pm

Sometime back, I found these photos from the MN Historical Society. While I am still searching through My families photos for any like these, I thought these were quite interesting.
Do any of you have photos of your forefathers and/or other family members duck hunting that you might care to share?
Anyways, I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I have.

...So go ahead, dig out some old family hunting photos, scan 'em and put them up here if possible. I know I've got fishing pics, so be looking for some old ones from My family. Enjoy!

I little background on Lake Heron, MN, Back in the market hunting days, the train stopped there and took the birds straight east to Chicago for sale. Literally hundreds of ducks each day headed east, sometimes a thousand+ went east.

That was before all the lakes, sloughs, potholes, etc,, in MN where all drained and tiled. :pissed:

Man, I wish I could! There are between 700-1000 pictures like these from the Minnesota Historical Society. That's just on hunting alone! I may get to a few more. Just enjoy these for now.
