How much bird do you waste?

Postby 98ramtough » Wed Nov 10, 2004 6:45 pm

As I was cleaning my ducks today I realized that I save quite a bit from my ducks. I save all the wings off every duck and goose for dog training, I take feathers off for tyling flies. On mallards I take the back little curle off and pin it up in my garage. Oh yeah, I eat the meat too... The only thing I don't really eat is the gizzards.

Any of you guys do cool stuff with certain ducks? Anyone eat the gizzards?

I have heard of people making a wreath out of the mallard's tail curls, but it would take alot of curls.

ks- that would be cool. I just pin them up on this board in my garage, a wreath would be really cool. Maybe Donell can make us one, he is into scrap booking and crafts... .
