Anybody like Westerns?

Postby h2ofwlr » Sat Apr 08, 2006 9:13 pm

Something to look forward to. I saw a blurb that Robert Duvall (Lonesome Dove fame) has made another western that will be out in June. Thye name is Broken Trail, and I saw the blurb on AMC tonight and Duvall said it is as good as Lonesome Dove. It should be worth watching then as I loved Lonesome Dove and Duvall as as actor.

It looks as if it should be good.

I remember as a kid me and my uncle would come in for lunch from running dogs and eat, watch some JOHN WAYNE flicks and take a nap......good times, good times.

Anyone seen Winchester 74? I liked that one. Same with Two Mules for Sister Sarah, and For a Few Dollars More.

man, there are tons of great westerns. here are a few to get you started, in no particular order.

lonesome dove
silverado
tombstone - one of all time greatest
young guns
young guns II
wyatt earp
open range
magnificent seven
unforgiven
dances with wolves
pale rider
Geronimo
all the pretty horses
desparado
alamo
quick and the dead (sam elliot)

blazing saddles, three amigos, & maverick have a comedic twist

deadwood series - hbo (if you can tolerate the language the series is incredible.)

any of the clint eastwood or john wayne films are great.
man, it's hard to remember them all.

i watched lonsome dove over the past couple nights. The video store only had volume 1 and 2, is there more too it? I hope so, cause if not it ended in weird place. I also started watching blazing saddles, it was pretty funny, but i fell asleep half way through.
