Who knows the name of the man that was "given credit" in the U.S. for being the 1st person to band birds?
Take a youngster hunting today instead of taking him to rehab tomorrow.

Not sure about in the us, but check this link out http://www.jackminer.com My brother and another friend killed two of his (family's) banded birds.
I'd rather be hunting.

If I remember right John James Audubon had tied silver thread on a leg of warblers and in subsequent years either recaptured them or at least saw them again. This is technically banding birds which would put the date in the 19th century.

we got a goose the other day with a neck collar that was orange with white lettering. where would that bird have come from?
