planning ahead....after we try that new recipe I found for duck patties-we'll probably want that option on the camp menu. I'm thinkin it'll be a great alternative to kabobs for duck blind food.

Is it funny that now when I read your posts the voice in my head is Troy?

since we sound nothing like him, yea, kind of. Pierre Part is a whole other dialect and accent. we have to listen close to understand older gents from there. Our accent is more Baton Rouge.

You can blame your brother, he is the one who wrote "If you can understand Troy Landry, you can understand us".

Oh, and I didn't make the recipe tonight, since I was so busy trying to find some decent pecans that I forgot to get onions. Tomorrow night.

For about 2 seconds I considered using some dehydrated onions and onion powder, before deciding this would be a VERY bad idea. The up side is that I went ahead and prepped everything else, so it'll be quick tomorrow.

Rick...you bring up another possibility, we could grind the hearts and gizzards while at the camp and make dirty rice. :thumbsup:

yep. but very limited space. I'm thinking we'll just bring preground duck to the camp in an ice chest.

yes. but it's not the power that is the restriction...it's room inside the camp.

I'm guessing you take multiple vehicles to the ramp, and I've seen your two boat trailer setup, so what about instead of going:

truck->camp
truck->boat->boat

You went:

truck->camp->boat
truck->camp->boat

You're going to confuse the coonasses. If you're not careful, you'll see them in the parking lot next season camp<-boat<-camp, boat<-truck<-truck, standing around scratching their heads.

They've got their system. Leave them to it.
