I got to work at midnight and the guys that were already here say (when I walk in the door) "Dang man, you love that OT!" I was like "nope, its my normal night working" They say "Yea, but you got hooked up on the schedule with this night off since you have all that OT while they're out of town" me..."Awesome"

No way I can go back to sleep now, so I'm just sitting here soaking up the OT when I couldn't have been cuddled up in bed all night...which meant I could have fished Wednesday if I would have stayed home.

Just made the last payment on it a few months back and still HATE it.... Bought new 2008 4.8 extended cab 4X4..... 14mpg and its a dog...

I'm still driving my 2002 GMC extended cab Z71 with the 5.3 V8 and don't really have any problems with it other than I'm getting 11.2 MPG, but I attribute that to the 4.10 rear end. It's holding up a whole lot better than it's been treated. I plan to keep it and use it as a hunting truck for the next 3 years until my youngest son is driving and let him start out in it.

I want a truck but the mileage is a large reason why I don't.

They are claiming 16 mpg city and 22 mpg hwy. I've been researching the mpg for a while now on the 2014's and I think those figures are realistic. I figured a savings of $75 a month at 16mpg and around $110 if I get 18 mpg average. The older I get, the lighter my foot gets. Plus, with the newer vehicles that display the average mpg, I tend to watch my average and adjust my driving habits to see how high I can get the mpg. I managed to get a 2012 gmc 2500 with the Diesel engine up to 21.4 mpg average on the way home from Byers farm in January. My dad usually averages 17 to 18 mpg in it.

Dad has a 2013 Z71 standard cab short bed. With the V8. He's at 23-24 highway

I'd look into a Tacoma if I were looking for a new truck. Good gas mileage and resale value. Unless your towing anything extreme, I'd go with it.

Ya know, go back a year ago and I would have never in a million years think that I would be installing a liquid fertilizer kit on a corn planter to side dress while planting. So there's that.
