PM, me your address. If no one signs up for it on the 9th I can send it to you early if you'll have the chance to hunt over it then...

Ou early season doesn't start until the 21 of September so it would just be sitting around until then. Ill get my address to you though.

I'll keep it or send it.... Not sure if I will get any hunting in after the first weekend.

Is it just for early goose that you have it for?

Bonzai, One you quoted the wrong timeline and two, there is a 100 post count minimum. Depending on what the others say, you might get in on this, but not my decision. Not trying to start anything, just pointing out the ground rules. Besides, none of us want our dates getting screwed up by someone posting the wrong timeline.

Didn't see any rules posted like in the other flyway forums so I figured I would sign up. As for the mess up on the date that is my fault as I was on my phone and something went weird. However if I can still sign up for the 18 of Nov and noone objects I'd love to take it.

*Atlantic Flyway Rambler Sign Ups*

Postby grizz18 » Thu Sep 05, 2013 5:41 am

Well, the opener didn't go as planned. We had very high hopes, and the geese pulled a fast one on us.

We showed up early Sunday morning the area we were hunting and found geese almost immediately. We found about 100+ in the first spot, with the same results at the next couple of spots. We knew exactly how they were set up, and knew exactly where to be when they showed up. We went back caught some sleep for the 2am alarm clock coming to ensure that no one could beat us to the spot. Decoys (7 doz) were set up and ready to rock, and blind was built ready to go by 530 am.....and then we waited and waited and waited....The geese never showed up.

We don't know what happened... We talked to several guys in the area that all had the same story...Saw plenty on Sunday, but no shows on Monday... The rambler got zero action. SORRY. I hope to try and get on some teal this weekend otherwise he'll be taking pictures with fish this afternoon. haha

Here are some scenery/blind pictures from the hunt Monday.

Last but not least, a picture of extreme face paint. My buddies thought this would be a laugh factor. You can't take us serious.

Well I finally got out on a hunt yesterday afternoon after receiving the rambler yesterday morning. We saw birds, but none quite in range. It was still great getting back out on the water and watch birds fly and enjoy the scenery. On the downside I lost my camera. Didn't have many pictures on it, but what I did take were some awesome scenery pics and some of the rambler. Kinda pissed about it, but I guess it's nothing lost really since I found it a couple years ago at a honky tonk. Maybe ill do some fishing over the rambler before it gets shipped next week.

Just to let everyone know the ramble was shipped on Monday and should be at hickunit's doorstep on Thursday. I sent him a PM but haven gotten a response yet. He hasn't posted in a few weeks either.

It just arrived at my door a few minutes ago. I am not sure how much hunting I am going to be able to get done. I was supposed to be on leave this week. But since I am one of the essential government employees, my leave was canceled and I have to go to work for free. I will try to sneak a hunt in but its not looking good. Happy Fiscal Year everyone......

Don't feel bad. I only hunted over it a total of 3 hours. Enjoy your goodies.
