Great pictures and write up

I get jealous when I see all the beautiful places you guys hunt. I hunt a suburban strip pit. I'm going to try and get out during the week this year and see some new areas. Probably hunt on the river between the Exxon Mobil refinery and the Dresden nuclear power station and I hope to see more ducks than barges :grooving: Come late season I do hunt a scenic Prairie state picked corn field for geese, that is unless they planted beans this year then it's just a mud field by the time we start hunting it.

That was easily one of the most gorgeous mornings I've spent on the water. And that view was only there for me and the pup. No one else in that bay and there was no fog on the main lake. Plus, my birds were on the strap so I could just take it all in. My second favorite pic from that morning.

Spinner. I am dead serious when I say this....If we get a freeze before the end of the season this year ( Central Zone ), I will show you a place in that very same area that contained the largest concentration of ducks that I've ever seen in this area in my life. I kid you not, my dad and I literally just stood in awe as wave after wave of ducks piled in on this place non stop for over 2 hours. Never even attempted to fire a shot because we did not want to ruin the show.

I'd love to get out. My buddy has a blind near Braidwood. The number of ducks and geese can be amazing. A little open water goes a long ways that time of year. Unfortunately, the only year I was hunting with them that the ducks showed heavy before the end of season, I was out of town

And if jay is going to be in the Naperville area after opening weekend, I hope we can pass the decoy at a local establishment.

depends...
if it is perishable, like louisiana satsumas, you are suppose to eat them! BTW-do not put whole duck wings in the box. Feathers are OK., but wings with meat and stuff still on them stink bad after a while...

8 hours and counting until Ginger sees her first hunt in the greatest state in the union.
She is wrapped up tight in my colossal blind bag for safe keeping and a nice warm night's sleep before the day of hard work that lies ahead!
