If you take it for teal I can take it up north for the MN opener with a couple DHCers the next weekend. Our dates are set as well.

Is 3 or 4 dhc members hunting dove and teal over it an issue?

I am inclined to let jaysweet take the deek to Canada again this year. I put the group caveat in place to ensure that the most DHC members get a chance to hunt over the deek. The last few years, the schedule filled up very quickly and there was a lengthy overflow list which the group caveat helped to alleviate. This season, the schedule is wide open with numerous open dates. I'm trying to accommodate those that want to hunt the deek. Help me out fellas.

2. Try and schedule a hunt with fellow DHC members in your area so that more people can hunt over the deek. You do not have to take them to your #1 honey hole if you do not want to. pick a public marsh if possible and have fun with it.

It's cool. You can have it. Last thing anyone wants, is for the guy running it to have a hassle.

Back when this started, part of it was a numbers thing. A competition between flyways. The Mississippi flyway showed it's dominance. I'd like to think my trip played a big part in that. Only Hustad put up bigger numbers per hunter, my group had the largest total killed over the decoy both years, because we had more hunts. The two years I had the decoy, we killed just under 500 birds, with one band. I'm proud of that.

Naw, it's always been about the stories and pictures seeing the deek travel up and down the flyway. The numbers were cool, but that was not the main thrust of the traveling decoy.

Check the first post on this thread, the tentative schedule has been updated....

Still got some spots to fill, it's not too late to join up.

We would have hung 300 on it the very same weekend last year, had we had it.

IL DNR posted the 2013-2014 waterfowl dates, this is official.
http://www.dnr.illinois.gov/news/Pages/ ... Dates.aspx

South Zone: Nov 28-Jan 26
I have cotacted Cujo1 and teamoutlaw, and both of them have said they'd hunt with me over the rambler on those specified dates. There are So. Il. 3 DHC members looking forward to hunting the rambler this year!
