Am I correct that the end of the bill is a bit wider than a pure gassy, but a lot thinner than a shoveler?

I would think it would vary from one to the other, but in this case yes.

We were able to put 99 birds over the rambler this weekend. 24 of which were specks. Ginga brought with her some of the worst weather I've ever seen for an opener. High winds, heavy rain, ice, and freezing rain were the order for the inclement weather. We added some special signatures to ginga thanks to our guests this weekend. Thanks to those guys and ginga for helping us celebrate our 60th opening weekend.

Ah...well that explains it. put me down as having shot one long ago then.

And I'm pretty sure that's what my last gadwall was as well. It was distinctly different than any other gadwall I've got, but I didn't really think anything about it. Oh well, he tasted good.

It looked a touch fat in the pic but a lil hard to tell from the angle. Way to pull ginger and the flyway out of the rut!

It's not surprising that I get confused easily. But, you guys are open, SEMO doesn't open until Thursday. Louisiana has been open for two weeks.

Tennessee opens Thursday as well. But no split. Straight 60 day season.

Sorry about the poor quality guys. Was having some computer issues last night getting the pictures resized so I just copied them using my phone and they saved super pixelated.

Thanks guys. Was nice to see some ducks get put down over ginger this weekend. Big shout out to ByersFarm for making it possible. And of course to the heron and craZyMatt for another incredible weekend of hunting.
