Glad to hear you had fun, sorry the weather didn't cooperate.

Ruddy ducks eat pretty good. How'd you & BB do? Haven't seen any posts from him in some time.

Low spinning over texas moved through right at shooting light. Eery and dark as it moved over. All the birds in the air bugged out flying to the east, then heavy rain hit. took this pic. of a now beakless Ginger after the heavy rain stopped. Ginger lost the beak on the way to the blind in the waves. I will have to glue it back on.
Image

Ginger with a redhead I shot that morning along with 3 greenwings and a canvasback woods shot:
Image

We left the blind at 11 am right before a heavy line of rain hit....no wind and fog= Kiss. Of. Death.
Image

This little fella was on the bank and smiled for the camera as I drove by...

Breakfast monday morning was Smoked Venison sausage Hash...
sausage inda pot
Image
onions about to go in...
Image

forgot to take the finished pic. as Indawoods arrived back at the camp from picking up mhn at the launch and we were all hungry and ate as soon as the boat was tied off.

Ginger floating in the spread monday. We were not able to get to the blind until about 10am. We were greeted with 1mph winds and flat seas and bluebird skies. birds just sat out in the gulf all day. We shot the few birds that got run up by boats along the channels and were up flying. saw next to nothing in the air.
Image

Grautin with a long retrieve on a greenwing hen that sailed on us...

Dead. Calm. Tuesday...
Image

morning fog as well. Not a lot of shooting at all...
We decided to pack it up and head in, the weather was better for timber hunting so we hooked up with bayouboy and planned a trip for weds. so he could hunt over ginger. he wanted to see if the mallards were in some of his holes though it was still a little early.

Weds. timber hunt with Bayouboy...

Foggy start to the morning, but birds flew when the fog lifted. We should have got our 3 woodys each, but missed some opportunities. We ended up with 4 drakes.

Woods and Bayouboy standing in the buck brush on the edge of the hole:

the view from where I was standing...big pretty cypress tree.
